FREE GRAFFITI AND STREET ART TOUR WITH MISTERY
Part of Platform 3 Hip Hop Festival, this free street art and culture tour with Graffiti Artist, Mistery takes place around our local area.
THIS EVENT IS NOW BOOKED OUT.
You’ll get an intro to different forms of street art, and visit some of Sydney’s most iconic street art sites, including the Skippy Girls on Wilson St Eveleigh and ‘I Had a Dream’ on King Street.
The tour winds through laneways and back streets of Newtown to view works that local and international artists have created in the neighbourhood. Some of the pieces are fresh commissions, some are constantly being re-sprayed by young street artists, and some have been in position for more than 20 years. Mistery will reveal back stories behind some of the iconic pieces, identify up and coming street artists, and you can, of course, ask questions along the way.
DO I HAVE TO BE FIT? WHAT DO I BRING? The walk will take approximately two hours at a constant pace. A low-moderate level of fitness is required. There are pauses to stop and look at works, but no long breaks. Wear comfortable shoes. Bring sunscreen/hat/umbrella.
HOW TO BOOK THIS EVENT IS NOW BOOKED OUT. More information about where to meet will be sent to you via email. This event will book out! In order to make it fair for everyone, we are not accepting group bookings over 4 people for this tour.
CAN I BRING MY CHILD? Children can participate, but they need to be able to walk for the entire 2 hours, or you can bring a stroller. There are pauses to look at the works, but no long breaks. The majority of the tour takes place walking in laneways and side roads around Newtown and Eveleigh. Sometimes there are not sufficient footpaths, so there are sections where people will need to walk on the tarmac. All children will need to be supervised closely at all times.
