VISITING THE FESTIVAL - TIPS AND TRICKS

TRAVEL GREEN – SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT ADVICE

The whole of Sydney Children’s Festival takes place at CarriageWorks, and getting to the venue is easy! The many available public transport options will save you time and money. Choosing to ride a train, bus or bike will get you here on time, and will embrace the Festival’s approach to creative sustainability. Consider some of these options:

TRAIN
8 minute walk from Redfern station
10 minute walk from Macdonaldtown station
15 minute walk from Newtown station

PUBLIC BUS
Nearest stop at Codrington Street at City Road – 5 minute walk
Alight from the 422, 423, 426, 428, 370, 352

We also have bike racks onsite. For more info on trip planning and public transport, visit www.131500.com.au and click here for more Festival transport info.

A FEW MORE TIPS...

Be patient and flexible
Over 60% of the festival is free, making many of the activities VERY popular – so occasionally, you may need to wait to participate. But don’t worry, the Festival has been designed with many events, workshops and exhibitions running at the same time, so if you miss out on something, you can try something else.

Not sure what’s available?
Ask our friendly staff and volunteers – they’ll guide you in the right direction.

Plan your time carefully
The Festival starts gently each day, with hands-on interactive workshops in gardening, choir and visual arts in the morning. The middle of the day will reach a crescendo of noise, activity and colour before easing back toward a (relatively!) calm end of the day. Keep your child’s unique personality in mind when timing your visit.

Pre-book your tickets
We anticipate that most of the ticketed events will sell out. Advance booking will ensure you avoid disappointment and long queues at the Box Office. BOOK ONLINE NOW.
